I'm 79 and have always loved a good beat and to dance. Unfortunately, not any of my 3 husbands danced. My mother was a great 20s dancer and said she would miss her dancing life. At 82 she said it was OK 'cause she didn't want to dance anyway. I was getting ready to join a dance club when the ticker needed a proceedure and I have calmed down quite a bit. I do like to watch "Dancing With the Stars" but I don't really like the rolling around on the floor and hip hop in it's variations on other shows. I'm just an old fashioned girl! I used to watch the Ballroom competitions on PBS and enjoyed that. Today if a man asked me to dance I still could do it, tho swing sorta leaves me out of breath fast!
My Life as a Dancer
I guess I'm here under false pretenses. Edie suggested I enjoy the web site. My life as a dancer has been sorta frustrating. When the music started playing, I'd start dancing in my chair as my husband was always busy as the pianist.
My Hopes and Dreams
Were shattered when, after the 6 kids, I bought some tap shoes and went to an evening tap class at the high school. I could not follow the steps or remember them. Ladies much older than I were tapping away in unison and so I took my taps shoes home! I still don't know the secret.

If Other, Tell Us What is Your Favorite Kind of Dance:
"Story of Irene and Vernon Castle"..they did it all. Fred and Ginger all the way! It was too sad that Ginger ignored Fred at the Honors Presentation in DC, but she felt she was an ACTRESS.

Doesn't sound like you're here under false pretenses at all. Welcome! Even if you dance in your chair, you are still dancing! Hope to hear more from you.
