Michael Schade believes a recital should be three things — warm, intimate and very Romantic. “I like to imagine a dinner with friends,” he says. “You’re having a great meal, interesting discussions. It’s all very luscious. It should be an intimate experience — and it should be fun.”. Schade returns to the Bay Area this week with a recital he promises will be all of those things and more. The program is modeled on the legendary repertoire performed in the 1920s by Irish tenor John McCormack and violinist Fritz Kreisler — pieces such as “The Last Hour,” “Jocelyn’s Lullaby,” “Carmé” and “Danny Boy.” Works by Schubert, Handel, Mozart and Richard Strauss are also included lace up ballet flats. “It’s fantastic music, full of color and beautiful harmonies,” says Schade, whose recital partners will be acclaimed violinist Livia Sohn and pianist Kevin Murphy..
