I'm here, although I doubt I would make for much of a partner.
Hey Mark - there are more guys out there - we can tend to be a minority - but maybe things will pick up speed. Some guys just don't understand how being a good dancer can be one of the sexiest quality in getting a girl - maybe more guys will figure that out. If not it will just be our little secret here on the Gotta Dance Social Network.
I'll gladly take the advantage, it's just slightly upsetting to see how one-sided the dance scene is. How did you hear about the movie?

The truth is... I think men like to dance a lot more than they lead on to. Right Ladies? But there's just some block in some (not all, Mark, Eugene) men's egos that won't let them get up on that dance floor.

I remember my mother saying the only time my father ever danced with her was at their wedding. And even then it was only because everyone was watching their 'first dance.'
If you find them, let me know!
Mothers let your boys take ballet!
(and Fathers) since I think that's where most of the objection comes from...
I own a dance studio and we have one boy out of 140 students. In my area boys taking dance is really taboo. I wish they would start dance programs in the schools so boys would know how hard it is and that it would help them when they play sports. A lot of athletes take dance but it is not known. Maybe with some of the athletes on Dancing with the Stars things will start to change. We can only hope!

Did someone say something about men?
The funny things is that while parents frown upon boys taking dance classes, guys who can dance get all the attention (and the ladies' phone numbers).

I never took dance lessons as a kid, and now I regret it. It takes true athletic strength and commitment to be dancer. I played on the little league baseball team and now baseball is not a part of my life at all. Frankly, tap lessons would have served me much better.
Edie- I completely agree that school physical education programs could have a great impact on how parents and young boys perceive dance. And people always 'ooo and ahh' over the one little boy in the dance recital- you would think parents would welcome that kind of attention for their boys.
I know I didn't get involved in dance when I was young cause it was considered girly, and my father would have never allowed it. It's a shame, because I'm having a heck of a time doing it now!
