Gotta Dance With Us – Home For Everyone Who Loves To Dance

I love watching a film with a great dance sequence! I wanted to ask some of you other members what sequences from the cinema - or dance films in general - you just love watching over and over again. I know I have some of mine - and I will share as well.

Hi welcome to Gotta Dance With Us. Since I grew up in the 50's I was fortunate enough to see all of the wonderful musicals that were so popular at that time. I love anything with Gene Kelly, and just about anything else from that time period.
I agree, hitchcockhill, dance movie sequences are just stunning. Some favorites of mine include.

-Scent of a Woman.. where Al Pacino asks Gabrielle Anwar for a tango
-Dirty Dancing... of course
-Singin' in the Rain... I've always loved the dance sequences in this movie! (Gotta love Gene Kelly, Edie!)
-The Little Colonel... Shirley Temple and Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson (simply adorable)
I love movie-musical dance sequences. It seemed like movie-musicals were making a come back with movies like Hairspray and Chicago, but I don't think they will ever have the same presence as it did in the 50's.
This isn't classic in any way whatsoever, but I thought the dance sequence at the end of Slumdog Millionaire was very cool. But maybe that's just me.
Are there filmed dance numbers in 'Gotta Dance'? After watching the trailer- I would love to see more of those NETSationals!
