‘Purple Rain’ screeningis canceled. PITTSBURG — Due to conflcits with the Warner Brothers, the Pittsburg Arts and Community Foundation has canceled its screening of “Purple Rain” that had been scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday at the California Theatre, 351 Railroad Ave. Instead, the California Theatre, with help from Latoya Mays of Pittsburg , the daughter of onetime Prince keyboardist/backup singer and New Power Generation member Rosie Gaines, will put on a tribute dance party-type of event.
